- ➤ Atascadero is accepting band applications for the 23rd Saturday in the Park concert series at the Atascadero Lake Bandstand in 2026, with free concerts running 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on June 20, 27, July 11, 25, and Aug. 1, 8, 15; applications are due Friday, Jan. 30 at 5 p.m. Paso Robles Daily News
- ➤ The SLO County Sheriff's Office hosted its annual Christmas Bicycle Giveaway on Wednesday, offering families refurbished bikes and helmets restored by inmates at the County Jail Honor Farm (ensuring each bike was safe) with help from community donations. KSBY-TV
- ➤ Bear is an 85-lb nearly three-year-old mixed breed who loves learning tricks and is ready for a forever home + he will be available today at Woods Humane Society off Oklahoma Ave from noon to 4 p.m. KSBY-TV

- ➤ Chabad of Paso Robles will host a public Hanukkah celebration with a 9-foot menorah lighting, live music, a live painter, and activities on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 4:30 p.m. at Downtown City Park (Paso Robles) in a free event open to all ages. Paso Robles Daily News
- ➤ The 84th Poly Royal Rodeo returns to Alex G. Spanos Stadium April 9 to 11, 2026, nearly doubling capacity and celebrating Cal Poly’s 125th anniversary. It will feature barrel racing, roping, bronc riding, bull riding + nightly concerts, with tickets on sale Feb. 11, 2026. KSBY-TV

- ➤ The company planning an offshore wind maintenance facility ended its contract with the Port San Luis Harbor District on Dec. 4 because changes in federal energy policy created uncertainty. Commissioners delayed a $3 million grant for an industrial port study after public comment, pending further evaluations. CalCoast News
- ➤ San Luis Obispo County transit will get a tap-and-pay payment system to make boarding faster starting early 2026. The $970,000 project funded by state grants is part of a broader plan to boost ridership and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. KSBY-TV
- ➤ The Public Health Department seeks volunteers to join the Emergency Medical Care Committee serving 2026–2030 and advising on prehospital care. Applicants should submit a resume and letter of interest by Dec. 19. Paso Robles Daily News

- ➤ Cal Poly Women’s Basketball lost Monday night to UC Riverside 63-46 as the Mustangs committed 24 turnovers and opened Big West play at 0-2. Freshman forward Charish Thompson scored 11 points, and the team will reset in upcoming nonconference games prior to January conference contests. Mustang News
