  • PG&E is offering free winter safety checks as temperatures drop and Arroyo Grande Police are increasing DUI patrols until December 9. Today, the SLO Fire Department and Fire Safe Council host Free Chipping Day to help residents clear vegetation—local businesses promote holiday deals and food donation safety measures.  KSBY-TV
  • Mujeres de Acción is asking local donors to sign up as monthly supporters on Giving Tuesday to help expand its programs serving Latina women and families in San Luis Obispo. The nonprofit supported hundreds in 2025 by distributing 467 food baskets—providing diapers, baby wipes, bilingual workshops and resource navigation, and it will expand outreach in 2026.  Paso Robles Daily News

  • Villa San Juliette Vineyard & Winery in San Miguel is under new ownership—Continental Vineyards’ owner now leads plans to upgrade event spaces and expand lodging with refreshed outdoor areas and new event furnishings. The winery will keep its name and handcrafted estate-grown wines while Roxan Kragten takes charge of daily operations.  Paso Robles Daily News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Scott and Seth Avett and Mike Patton will perform at the Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles on May 9 as part of their 2026 U.S. tour, and tickets go on sale Dec. 5 at 12 p.m. Their new album, AVTT/PTTN, shows how years of creative work have led to fresh songs for the tour.  Paso Robles Daily News
  • The Paso Robles High School Music Department will hold its Winter Concert at the Templeton Performing Arts Center on Dec. 18. Students from the Forte Choir, Jazz Band, Concert Band, Crimson Collective Singers and guest Bold as Brass quintet will perform at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.—their first show at the venue.  Paso Robles Daily News
  • Central Coast photographer Jeanine Madson opened her new exhibit The Girls of Fall: Women in Wine at Studios on the Park in Paso Robles—showing photos of vineyard workers and winemakers. The free exhibit will run through December and holds an opening reception on Dec. 5 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. where guests can sample wine and light snacks.  Paso Robles Daily News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Following recent rains and with green grass emerging, SLO County announced on Tuesday that backyard burning will be allowed starting Dec. 8. Residents must obtain permits online via SLO Clean Air — which will issue both APCD and Cal Fire permits at once.  CalCoast News
  • Travelers on Hwy 41 west of Atascadero will face up to 15-minute delays today as Caltrans crews perform a rock scaling operation from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Old Morro Rd. + Torro Creek Rd. to remove loose rocks and guard against closures during the rainy season.  KSBY-TV
