COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria reopened this morning after a bomb threat forced Tuesday evacuations and officials found no bomb, while residents met Monday near burn scars to learn winter safety tips. The city also revived its Buy Local Bonus for the holiday season, Laetitia Wines in Arroyo Grande started a multi-year plan to replant its vineyard, SpaceX will launch a rideshare mission tomorrow at 10:18 a.m., and AAA said more people will travel for the holidays—so drivers and flyers should plan ahead.  KSBY

CULTURE NEWS

  • The 18th annual Rhone Rangers Experience Weekend returns to Paso Robles on March 20, 2026 and March 21, 2026, featuring wineries from California, Arizona, Oregon, and Texas. New additions include a Friday evening program in downtown Paso Robles + Choose Your Rhône Adventure workshops and various ticket options.  Paso Robles Daily News
  • Hope Lutheran Church will host a free concert called Harmony for the Holidays on December 7 at noon with the SLO Men's and Women's Chorus at 8005 San Gabriel Road. The church will hold its Sunday worship service at 9 a.m. and offer breakfast treats from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. before a Christmas sing-along.  Paso Robles Daily News

  • Cal Poly has begun paying its Poly Reps for 40 years of unpaid work+ the university now supports these student ambassadors+ the change is expected to reshape the iconic program.  Mustang News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, California Highway Patrol will begin its Thanksgiving Holiday Enforcement Period at 6:01 p.m. and run through November 30 — officers will focus on seat belt use, impaired driving and safe travel during one of the busiest travel weekends.  Paso Robles Daily News
  • San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport is gearing up for a busy holiday travel season and advises passengers to arrive two hours before departure—allowing enough time for parking, check-in and security screening. Officials say travelers should check their flight status and plan for alternate transportation to avoid delays.  Paso Robles Daily News
  • The County Health Agency has received over $650,000 in grants from the California Office of Traffic Safety to boost bicycle, pedestrian, child passenger, and youth safety. The funds will support programs that teach safe practices—such as helmet fittings, car seat checks, and school presentations—through September.  Paso Robles Daily News

  • Cal Poly Football ended a six-game losing streak — a season marked by challenges — with a 43 to 34 win over Eastern Washington on senior night at Mustang Memorial Field. The Mustangs will begin a search for a new head coach and complete the Madden Center in the offseason.  Mustang News
