- ➤ General Store Paso Robles will donate 10 percent of sales from Friday through Sunday this Thanksgiving weekend to the El Camino Homeless Organization at its downtown park location. The store is celebrating its thirteenth holiday event and will host tree lightings and displays—encouraging local support. Paso Robles Daily News
- ➤ The County of San Luis Obispo Friday Night Live Partnership will host the Reindeer Run 5K at Mitchell Park on Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.—participants are encouraged to wear holiday costumes to support scholarships for high school seniors active in the program, with registration open until noon on Dec. 5. - ➤ Community members can become certified in first aid, CPR, and AED use at Centennial Park's Live Oak Room at 600 Nickerson Drive. The Paso Robles Recreation Services Department will offer four-and-a-half-hour classes on Dec. 6 and Dec. 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $100—scholarship funds may help cover the fee. Atascadero residents will be offered free Cal Poly football tickets for Saturday’s game at Spanos Stadium at 2 p.m. — Paso Robles will host a flower arrangement workshop on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. and a free garlic growing workshop on Saturday from 10-11 a.m., the San Luis Obispo Repertory Theatre will play A Christmas Story tonight, USA Surfing will hold a competition at Pismo Beach on Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and a family-friendly Turkey Trot will begin in Lompoc at 9 a.m. on Sunday. - ➤ Residents in San Luis Obispo can prepare for storms tonight at the Farmers’ Market during a flood readiness event while officials report that a cannabis facility project in Creston is halted for missing its deadline, and the Housing Authority has opened Meadow Creek Apartments with affordable living options. The History Center has a new leader as local artifacts return to the mission — the regional airport will add parking lots in June and Sunset North Car Wash is hosting an Angel Tree for seniors with donations due by December 20.
