- ➤ El Camino Homeless Organization will host its seventh Turkey Trot 5K and Fun Run on Thanksgiving morning at Atascadero Lake Park, with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 27—participants of all ages can join with a $20 suggested donation as matching funds from the B Loved Foundation boost support for shelter and housing programs. - ➤ Downtown Paso Robles will host its annual lighting ceremony on Nov. 28 at City Park. The festivities will start at 5:30 p.m.—when the community gathers at the bandstand—and continue with Mrs. Claus lighting the downtown area at 6 p.m., accompanied by music, speeches, candlelight caroling, and appearances by Elves and the Grinch. - ➤ Cal Poly researchers led by Professor Katharine Watts and Postdoctoral Researcher Rachel Johnson are studying 25 to 40 million-year-old microbes from a bumblebee's gut trapped in amber to search for new ways to fight germs. The team has grown over 30 microbes and identified seven strains with antibiotic activity—further tests will show their potential for modern medicine. Paso Robles Daily News

- ➤ Templeton High School football team, led by senior Tyler Cunningham, will play tonight in the CIF playoffs as they host Coalinga after a first-round bye.
