- ➤ A concept plan for a new Chick-fil-A near the Home Depot in Atascadero was submitted for review while SpaceX will launch a Falcon 9 from Vandenberg this morning to send 28 Starlink satellites into orbit. A van crashed Tuesday into a Grover Beach home leaving a driver hospitalized—officials have repeatedly visited a home in Vandenberg Village where 9-year-old Melodee Buzzard remains missing, Los Osos planners are studying ways to protect South Bay Boulevard from flooding, and a San Luis Obispo nonprofit expanded its services with a new office and a three-year state grant exceeding $4.4 million. - ➤ The Atascadero Colony Days Parade will take place on Saturday, Nov. 15 as part of the Fall Festival weekend with free entries for community groups—organizers invite local schools, businesses, and civic groups to register by Nov. 7 and support local marching bands. Paso Robles Daily News

- ➤ Palm Theatre in San Luis Obispo got a Science on Screen grant—part of a national program by Coolidge Corner Theatre and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation that gave $250,000 to 41 groups. The theatre will host at least three film events with screenings and talks on science, technology and medicine featuring local experts. KSBY-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Assemblymember Dawn Addis and local leaders held a Senior Scam Stoppers event yesterday to help seniors spot and report scams — officials said they saw a rise in scam cases and warned residents to check before clicking links or sending money. KSBY-TV
- ➤ The San Luis Obispo City Council conditionally revoked Delta Chi's permit for their fraternity house due to noise complaints and gave them 60 days to apply for a modification—any further noise violations in that period will make the revocation permanent. Mustang News
- ➤ Kaveh Momtazian, a Central Coast business owner and father of four, was arrested by ICE on June 22 while driving home from the grocery store and is now held at the Adelanto ICE Processing Center—he plans to reopen his immigration case and apply for citizenship after a judge vacated prior charges.
