- ➤ City Farm SLO has been given an extra 1.5 acres by the City of San Luis Obispo to boost tenant farming, food production, and educational programs—this new acreage will also be used for habitat restoration and may be leased to other farmers for agricultural work. KSBY-TV
- ➤ From the Heart Animal Sanctuary held its annual 'Happy Together' fundraiser in Paso Robles on Saturday from 12pm to 3pm to raise funds for animals with special needs. - ➤ After Charlie Kirk was fatally shot on Sept 10 by a lone gunman, local Turning Point USA leaders planned a memorial at Cal Poly but administrators demanded the event be held indoors at a fee of $5,000 due to safety concerns — the vigil was held yesterday at the Performing Arts Center with over 3,000 expected. - ➤ Templeton High School named alumna Lacey McNamara as the new director of its drama program. She plans to use her local theater ties to improve the program — the fall production of Radium Girls will run from Nov. 6 to Nov. 15. Paso Robles Daily News
- ➤ Residents at a recent board meeting expressed concern over social media comments by an athletic coach who suggested public figures should be harmed—remarks that prompted calls for a review after a controversial post. The Paso Robles Joint Unified School District said it is launching an internal investigation while noting that it cannot legally discipline staff solely for their personal speech. KSBY-TV

- ➤ Caltrans is working to preserve Highway 58 between Santa Margarita and its junction with Pozo Road using shoulder widening, drainage improvements and pedestrian facilities—stage two that will widen lanes is set to begin in early October. - ➤ Cal Poly football won 32-24 over Sacramento State on Saturday night after injured main quarterbacks were replaced by backup Bo Kelly who threw for 203 yards.
