- ➤ Cal Poly Rose Float revealed its 2026 float titled Jungle Jumpstart—featuring jungle animals helping a robot to show teamwork. Over 60 students from Cal Poly and Cal Poly Pomona developed the design over eight months and the float will be showcased at the Rose Parade on Jan 1 in Pasadena. Mustang News
- ➤ Cal Poly alum Dylan Efron from Arroyo Grande took the ballroom stage on 'Dancing with the Stars' with partner Daniella Karagach—he performed a cha-cha and a samba that earned him a standing ovation. He said his dance journey after winning 'The Traitors' shows his drive to try new things and share his hometown pride. Mustang News

- ➤ AAA reports that the county's average gas price increased one cent last week to $4.93 a gallon—making it the sixth highest in the state—while state prices held at $4.65 and the national rate fell to $3.13. - ➤ On September 26, Cal Poly Women’s Volleyball held a Childhood Cancer Awareness night during its win over CSUN to honor player Brooklyn Burns who battled Hodgkin Lymphoma—her fight inspiring a new annual fundraiser and a pregame tribute for young cancer fighter Claire Noland. Head coach Caroline Walters said the event will continue each September to raise awareness for childhood cancer. Mustang News
