- ➤ San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport will close to all air traffic on Monday, Sept.22 at 7 a.m. and reopen on Wednesday, Sept.24 at 2 p.m. The taxiway project (a $16.5 million investment) will reconfigure key intersections to boost aircraft movement and safety (with FAA and county funds). - ➤ Cal Poly Athletic Director Don Oberhelman and his wife donated $250,000 to the John Madden Football Center ahead of his retirement on Sept. 17. The contribution adds to funds for the $45 million, two-story project that is set to finish by the end of 2025 — officials say it will support the football program with new training and office spaces.
