CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Paderewski Festival will open on Nov. 6 in Paso Robles to mark Paderewski’s 165th birthday with a band performance at the Paderewski statue in City Park and a concert by the Cuesta College North County Chorus at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. The festival will run through Nov. 9 and will offer a music gala with a public master class by Adam Żukiewicz and a recital by youth piano winners—making it a four-day celebration of music, wine, and local history. - ➤ The Paso Robles City Library will host an in-person workshop on Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Library Study Center where participants create mini shrines to honor loved ones for Día de los Muertos — families must register and children under 13 need an adult. Paso Robles Daily News

- ➤ Cal Poly aerospace student Denis Gonzalez-Reyes received a CSU Trustees' scholar award and a $7,000 scholarship for outstanding academic achievement, community service, and financial need on Tuesday. - ➤ Last week, the Grover Beach Planning Commission approved Bella Vista Villas—a five-story mixed-use building with 20 condos and a 900-square-foot gym—with one commissioner dissenting.
