- ➤ Habitat for Humanity San Luis Obispo County will launch a new DIY ReMaker Space at the San Luis Obispo ReStore located at 2790 Broad Street on Sept. 30 at 4 p.m.—the space will offer hand and power tools along with free workshops and volunteer-led hours to support affordable housing projects. - ➤ Sergeant Joshua Walsh was injured in a motorcycle accident on Sept. 3 on Highway 101 near Shell Beach Road; he was taken to Sierra Vista Hospital for emergency care and airlifted for multiple surgeries while a GoFundMe fundraiser has raised $20,780 toward a $50,000 goal to help cover his family's medical and living expenses & recovery costs. - ➤ Patricia Castaneda from Grover Beach was arrested for making criminal threats during a standoff at Hotel Cerro in San Luis Obispo on Tuesday morning—police arrived at about 9 a.m., closed roads, evacuated rooms, and negotiated her surrender after she barricaded herself, with no weapons found. - ➤ Locally produced film Hidden Creek will screen at Park Cinemas in Paso Robles from Sept. 19 to Sept. 25 as the last chance for local audiences to see the film in theaters—its award win at the SLO Film Festival highlights its local impact. Paso Robles Daily News
