CRIME NEWS

  • A 56-year-old Paso Robles woman charged with attempted murder—and arson, vandalism, and violating a restraining order—pleaded not guilty at her arraignment on September 4 and remains in San Luis Obispo County Jail.  CalCoast News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Caltrans will close alternating lanes on Highway 101 near Wellsona Road on Monday, Sept 8 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. as part of a $12.2 million project to build an undercrossing—frontage road with detours remaining available, and stage 3 work will continue until mid-January.  Paso Robles Daily News

HEALTH NEWS

  • San Luis Ambulance added a new 4x4 ambulance to serve remote off-pavement areas like Oceano Dunes as part of its 80th anniversary celebration — it will donate 80 defibrillators to local businesses and nonprofits and raffle one at the Chamber of Commerce Mixer on Sept. 17.  Paso Robles Daily News
  • Rose Care Group (the only provider on the Central Coast offering a full continuum of care) appointed longtime healthcare leader Alan Iftiniuk as chief executive officer and expanded its services to include its sister companies (Aevum Home Health and Aevum Hospice) following the closure of Wilshire Health and Community Services.   • Peter Lucier of Hearing Aid Specialists of the Central Coast, who has served San Luis Obispo County for 25 years, has been awarded the BC-HIS certification in hearing instrument sciences by the National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences. Fewer than 2 percent of hearing aid specialists in California hold this honor — a mark of high competency in hearing healthcare.  Paso Robles Daily News
