- ➤ Local residents in Country Club Estates and Rolling Hills are asked to conserve water today—after a power outage shut a pumping station—and lawmakers have reintroduced a safe parking bill to help the unhoused. A baby mongoose lemur was born on July 4th at the Central Coast Zoo, Cal Poly was ranked as a top college, and Overdose Awareness Day will be held tomorrow at Mitchell Park—featuring Narcan training and resource booths—while schools roll out a new youth mental health initiative. - ➤ This weekend sees numerous activities on the Central Coast— Cambria holds its 75th Annual Pinedorado Days parade with a car show starting Sunday morning while Avila Beach hosts a Pops by the Sea concert on Saturday at 4 p.m. Other events include art fairs in Morro Bay, community tree planting in Goleta, an overdose awareness gathering in Mitchell Park and history and benefit concerts at local venues. - ➤ A fire broke out at a San Luis Obispo condo on Thursday morning shortly after 7 a.m. along the 2200 block of Exposition Drive — firefighters remained on scene by 8:15 a.m. as they worked to determine its cause. KSBY
