- ➤ Cayucos Landing, formerly known as the Vets Hall, will reopen on Aug. 25 at the Cayucos Pier — San Luis Obispo County led the $11 million restoration with community support to update the structure for local events. CalCoast News
- ➤ Habitat for Humanity San Luis Obispo County delivered six custom playhouses to families in Arroyo Grande, Santa Maria, Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, and Atascadero and to the Paso Robles Boys & Girls Club, with the SLO delivery being the program’s first indoor installation—children began playing shortly after assembly. Cal Poly Girls Build sponsored four playhouses and the Rotary Club of Atascadero sponsored two, while volunteers and community leaders built these safe play spaces. Paso Robles Daily News

- ➤ A San Luis Obispo man, 43-year-old Baldomero Sarabia, was arrested on Sunday when an officer stopped his car on Olive Street for a broken brake light and a suspended license, and officers found suspected meth, a glass pipe, a shotgun, and a pellet gun in the vehicle – the shotgun was unregistered. - ➤ Cal Poly’s Spanos Stadium will host a concert on Sept. 20 where Cloonee, Dombresky, Mindchatter, Shermanology and local artist HAUWARD will perform for community members and students aged 18+; tickets cost $55 and the event will run from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. as part of Cal Poly’s new outdoor programming. - ➤ Sensorio in Paso Robles is inviting artists to submit proposals for outdoor exhibits that use light as the main medium at its exhibit space of over 20000 square feet. Proposals must be submitted by Oct. 10 at 11:59 p.m.—a live forum for questions will be held Sept. 18 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Paso Robles Daily News

- ➤ Local lawmakers and the California Legislative Central Coast Caucus Foundation announced 18 students have been chosen for the 2025 Central Coast Impact Scholarship to support their education. In San Luis Obispo, Delia 'Ozzy' Pidd, Nigel Dowlan and Yahairi Nunez Ruiz received the award while other recipients came from Santa Cruz, Monterey, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State Route 41 will close from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 26 through Aug. 28 for construction on the widening of Highway 46 East in the Cholame area—drivers will face delays up to 45 minutes as the project connects the new interchange and finishes in spring 2026. Paso Robles Daily News
- ➤ On August 19th, the California Transportation Commission approved $155 million for Central Coast travel projects including $15,756,000 to replace Toro Creek Bridge on Highway 1 near Morro Bay—other funds will fix roads in Monterey, Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz to help drivers. CTC Chair Darnell Grisby said the money will improve safety and lower costs for commuters. CalCoast News
