- ➤ On August 2, 2025, over 1,400 PG&E customers in northern San Luis Obispo County lost power and shortly before noon, outages expanded to affect 31,466 customers from Templeton to Lake Nacimiento—workers are investigating the cause and estimating when service will be restored. CalCoast News

- ➤ A barn fire on the 8600 block of San Carlos Road in Atascadero Saturday afternoon destroyed a structure and burned about two acres of vegetation — firefighters responded at 4:45 p.m. and crews are expected to remain until 9 p.m. with help from CAL FIRE as the cause remains unconfirmed. KSBY
- ➤ A barn fire in Atascadero on Saturday afternoon killed four horses and injured two people—destroying the barn, scorching nine acres, and prompting firefighters to contain the blaze at 8620 San Carlos Road in less than 40 minutes. CalCoast News

- ➤ The Gifford Fire spread to 30,519 acres by Saturday evening with only 5% containment, injuring three people after a helicopter transported a civilian for burn treatment and two contractors were injured in a rollover accident. Firefighters battled the blaze on both sides of Highway 166 in steep, rugged terrain—officials ordered multiple evacuations and closed the highway from Highway 101 to New Cuyama. CalCoast News
