- ➤ On July 30, the Atascadero Kiwanis Aktion Club donated 20 handmade, hand-tied blankets to children at the ECHO shelter. The club, which empowers adults with disabilities (sponsored by local Kiwanis clubs), made the donation as part of its ongoing community service. Paso Robles Daily News
- ➤ Volatus Winery in Paso Robles will host the fundraiser Feeding Hope – One Slice at a Time on Saturday, Sept 6, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will feature handcrafted pizza, wine and live music by Hawaiian folk country artist Jamie Lawrence to benefit the El Camino Homeless Organization’s shelter services. - ➤ San Luis Obispo Police arrested David Augustine Hurley, 28, at his workplace in Los Osos on July 30 at 9:45 a.m. after an investigation uncovered more than 600 files of child sexual abuse material plus detectives later searched his residence on the 1000 block of Pismo Avenue, and he now faces felony charges for possession and distribution of such material.
