- ➤ Gas prices in California dropped slightly to an average of $4.42 a gallon today while a new state law bans parking within 20 feet of crosswalks in Morro Bay and Santa Maria officers arrested drivers at a DUI checkpoint over the weekend. Nine women are cycling from Seattle to San Diego to raise funds for sex trafficking survivors, the Mid-State Fair ended as families and vendors packed up rides, and Pismo Beach hosted its first Central Coast Ohana Day—where children with special needs learned to surf. - ➤ A child riding a tricycle was struck by a pickup truck in the Mustang Water Slides parking lot at Lopez Lake on Sunday at 6:40 p.m. + the driver stopped and the injured child was airlifted to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara as the CHP continues its investigation. KSBY-TV
- ➤ A Grover Beach toddler was seriously injured on Sunday when a Ford F350 hit the tricycle in the Mustang Waterpark parking lot and the child was taken by Mercy Air ambulance to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara—no drugs or alcohol were suspected in the crash. CalCoast News
- ➤ A two-vehicle crash on Highway 46 East near McMillan Canyon Road on July 27 caused multiple injuries when a 17-year-old driving a 1998 Lexus collided with an adult female in a 2015 Toyota Highlander—both vehicles ended in separate areas of the roadway and all involved were taken to local hospitals as the investigation continues.
