- ➤ El Camino Homeless Organization announced that Anthony Allesmith (known as The Prancing Chef) is its new kitchen manager and leader of the workforce development program to reduce food waste and train residents for food service careers. The program will work with Must! Charities to offer job training and certification so that more residents secure employment. Paso Robles Daily News
- ➤ Local officials will discuss the potential dissolution of the San Miguel Community Services District today at 6 p.m. at the San Miguel Senior Center, law enforcement agencies have improved safety at the California Mid-State Fair, and Giuseppe’s Italian American Club has opened a larger location in Pismo with a lounge, deli, distillery and bakery. A ground stop caused by a communications outage was lifted at Santa Barbara Airport—Woods Humane Society extended its hours on July 23 and will offer discounted pet adoption fees on July 30, while Toyota San Luis Obispo is hosting a school supply drive on Los Osos Valley Road through August 10. - ➤ This weekend on the Central Coast, events span from a free pancake breakfast at the Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles on Thursday to extended fair hours, coffee with a cop in Arroyo Grande, and festivals in nearby towns through Sunday. In San Luis Obispo, community members can enjoy improv comedy at The Bunker today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. — a fabric block printing workshop at SLOLife Studio & Mercantile is set for Saturday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. KSBY

- ➤ Three separate juries in San Luis Obispo County found Tremaine Quincy Tejon Jones, Joshua Diante Murphy, and Heather Lynne Hunt guilty of trafficking a missing 15-year-old girl, with Murphy also convicted on child pornography charges and Jones set for a hearing today to decide if his prior conviction counts as a strike— while all face sentencing on Aug. 27. - ➤ Fort Hunter Liggett sent three heavy equipment operators and two firefighters to build fire lines and fight the Madre Fire from July 2–14 in Los Padres National Forest. They removed vegetation with bulldozers and supported CALFIRE efforts to protect wildlife and cultural sites. Paso Robles Daily News

- ➤ Morro Bay local Michael Erin Woody announced his candidacy for the District 2 seat on the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors in 2026 to replace Bruce Gibson — his campaign will focus on renewable energy, tax incentives for small businesses, and addressing homelessness as the primary election is set for June 2.
