ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Firefighters stopped a vegetation fire that burned 1.7 acres near Remington Court and Circle B Road in Paso Robles on Sunday afternoon using crews from Paso Robles City Fire+Templeton Fire+San Miguel Fire to achieve 40 percent containment by 4:30 p.m. while officials asked the public to avoid the area.  Paso Robles Daily News
  • On June 28 at 11:11 a.m., Cal Fire San Luis Obispo Unit Engine 3466 and San Luis Obispo County Fire Engine 16 worked with Cambria Fire Department ME5792 to rescue a kayaker stranded on rocks about 100 feet offshore near Cambria using a paddleboard — no injuries were reported.  Paso Robles Daily News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in SLO County will rise by up to 70 cents in July due to a new state tax and stricter rules on refineries—this change comes after prices fell for five months and the average dropped last week to $4.91. Some stations, including San Paso Truck Stop in Paso Robles, now offer the lowest price at $4.19.  CalCoast News

  • Less than one month before the 2024 presidential election, a political insider alleged voter fraud against Hunter Breese during his campaign for the Area 3 trustee seat while incumbent Nathan Williams won 63% of the vote. An investigation by the district attorney’s office confirmed Breese resided at his registered rental home—sparking questions about the timing and political motives behind the claim.  CalCoast News
