- ➤ Meathead Movers is partnering with Pregnancy & Parenting Support of San Luis Obispo County to launch a three-day diaper drive aimed at easing a local supply shortage after federal funds dropped. Donation events were held June 23 at Walmart in Paso Robles, are happening today at Walmart in Arroyo Grande, and will take place June 25 at Target — additional donations are accepted at Meathead Movers headquarters through July 10. - ➤ Today, SpaceX will launch the Transporter-14 mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base at 2:18 p.m., while Unity Shoppe kicks off its annual Back-to-School supply drive at fire stations in Goleta, Santa Barbara, and Carpinteria and Grover Beach completed its West Grand Avenue Streetscape Project. A new UCLA Cancer Care center will open in Atascadero on July 28th to serve North County patients—additionally, the San Luis Obispo Volleyball Club’s 15-and-under girls team prepares for the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championships in Dallas starting Wednesday, and Cuesta College nursing students will host a free Senior Wellness Fair in Paso Robles on June 27th. - ➤ Instructor Brad Golden will lead two jewelry-making workshops at Centennial Park on July 12 and Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.—participants will learn to make a silver pendant using metal clay. The $30 materials fee is payable by cash or card and family members receive a $5 discount when registering together, with no prior experience required for participants 21 or older. - ➤ UCLA Health will open a cancer care facility in Atascadero on July 28 on El Camino Real—designed to treat all types of cancer with multiple therapies. The center will use the latest technology and research to support patients and their loved ones. CalCoast News
