ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Friday afternoon, a fire that started in the attic displaced six people at a home on Lucas Lane in Paso Robles; firefighters from multiple agencies quickly extinguished the blaze while crews remained on scene. CalCoast News
- ➤ A 62-year-old man died and a teen was injured when a speedboat flipped after the driver made a sharp turn and hit a wake at Lake San Antonio on June 13 (the boat flipped several times) with onlookers in nearby boats providing aid (rescue efforts were immediate). CalCoast News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A small vegetation fire broke out in San Miguel along Lowe’s Canyon Road on Friday morning, burning between four and five acres and prompting CAL FIRE crews to arrive around 9 a.m.—they had stopped the fire's spread by 11:19 a.m.—while officials continue to investigate its cause. KSBY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ San Luis Obispo County sent 23 deputies to Los Angeles to help address civil unrest over ICE arrests, while Arroyo Grande and Grover Beach added 7 officers—supporting a coordinated effort noted by Gov. Gavin Newsom to secure public safety. CalCoast News
- ➤ The SLO County Farm Bureau warned local agricultural operators that ICE raids in Ventura may soon extend to our area after agents arrested undocumented immigrants with a criminal warrant on Tuesday in Santa Maria. The group also sent out tips (from attorney Patrick Moody) to help employers and employees know their rights when questioned by ICE. CalCoast News
- ➤ The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office said 23 deputies (including members of its MAPS Team) are being sent to Los Angeles along with 4 officers from Arroyo Grande and 2 officers and a commander from Grover Beach in response to ongoing civil unrest. The San Luis Obispo Police Department did not send any staff because they are occupied with Cal Poly commencement ceremonies and a downtown demonstration. KSBY

- ➤ Healthcare workers from six Planned Parenthood locations reached a tentative agreement with Planned Parenthood California Central Coast—averting a planned protest over claims of unfair labor practices and low pay. Settlement details were not made public. CalCoast News

- ➤ Woods Humane Society has two playful terrier pit mix puppies, Sheep and Llama, available for adoption today (off Oklahoma Ave) after they were the only survivors of a litter of nine transferred from the county shelter.
