- ➤ Paso Robles firefighters extinguished a fire at 2508 Spring Street on Saturday morning after a caller reported flames engulfing a deck and tree — the crew contained the blaze before it reached the building and no one was injured. CalCoast News

- ➤ Atascadero police are seeking help finding 15-year-old Alice Sommers, reported missing by her parents on June 6 and believed to be with an adult male named Damien in the San Jose area — anyone with information is urged to contact the police immediately. CalCoast News
- ➤ Atascadero Police reported that at-risk 15-year-old Alice Sommers, a white girl who is 5 feet 2 inches tall and 130 pounds with red/auburn hair and hazel eyes, was reported missing on Friday and may be in the San Jose area with an adult male known as Damien— officials urge anyone with information to call 805-461-5051. - ➤ Rod Stewart's concert originally planned for June 15 is now set for Sept. 21 at Vina Robles Amphitheatre due to his need for vocal rest from the flu—tickets already purchased will remain valid. Paso Robles Daily News

- ➤ Cal Poly San Luis Obispo professor Shanae Aurora Martinez has been suspended for one month without pay for her role in a pro-Palestinian protest; her suspension will begin on Sept. 11. She was arrested three times in 2024 (for alleged battery, drunk driving, and unlawful assembly) during campus protests. CalCoast News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A prescribed burn is set to occur Monday, June 9 at 9 a.m. near Highway 58—Branch Mountain Road in Carrizo Plains. Caltrans, in coordination with state and local agencies, will manage the 321-acre burn and advises residents not to call 911 for the visible smoke unless an unrelated emergency occurs.
