- ➤ Honor Flight Central Coast California is hosting Sherman’s Legacy Flight on June 6 at 10 a.m. at the Estrella Warbirds Museum in Paso Robles. The restored Douglas C-47 Skytrain (the fourth annual flight) will carry 18 passengers, including 14 veterans, on a one-hour coastal tour inviting residents to wave overhead. Paso Robles Daily News
- ➤ Kitten season is underway at local animal shelters as Woods Humane Society in Atascadero showcases Lavender (a vaccinated and altered kitten) and the County Animal Services Shelter lists Cheeto and three more kittens available today; both shelters are seeking donations and kitten fosters as litters arrive daily. - ➤ The California Mid-State Fair will feature concerts with Ice Cube, Warren G, and Willie Nelson this summer and tickets go on sale today at 10 a.m. for $50 to $100. KSBY
- ➤ Nederlander Concerts acquired Vina Robles Amphitheatre and its adjacent properties in Paso Robles to expand its Central Coast presence. The 3,000-capacity venue (named Best Live Music Venue for 10 years by New Times SLO) will host over 20 shows in the 2026 season while keeping its local team in place. Paso Robles Daily News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ San Luis Obispo placed a Clean California Community sign at Santa Rosa Street and Highland Drive to show its commitment to sustainability and litter reduction. City officials and community partners say the sign marks an ongoing effort to improve the local environment. Mustang News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Meadowlark Road between Airport and Hanson roads will be closed from May 26 to Sept. 1, affecting local traffic. A detour is set up via Sherwood and Linne roads for drivers to follow. Paso Robles Daily News
- ➤ Four county libraries will expand hours in June and July due to Arroyo Grande Library's closure. Shandon Library in North County will now open Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (with a lunch pause) while San Miguel, Oceano, and Shell Beach libraries add extra time. KSBY

- ➤ Cal Poly advanced to the Big West Championship by beating UC Santa Barbara 4 to 2 at Cicerone Field on Friday & will face the match winner today at 6 p.m. to secure the title. Mustang News
- ➤ Bearcats varsity softball team broke season records for home runs (22) and runs (225) thanks to a young roster with no seniors; Coach Andy MacDonald noted the team will return next year and continue building on its impressive work. Paso Robles Daily News
