On May 2nd, a large tree from Laguna Middle School fell on an occupied double decker bus traveling on Los Osos Valley Road in San Luis Obispo—SLO Transit quickly rerouted another bus while no one was injured.

Caltrans will close the median opening on U.S. 101 at Wellsona Road on Sunday, May 4 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. as part of the project to build an undercrossing beneath the highway—eliminating left turns across traffic—and crews will install a temporary concrete barrier that will remain until early 2026—ensuring work zone safety as construction continues.

County officials have lifted the boil water order for Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Oceano and San Miguelito Mutual Water Company customers after tests showed the water was safe on Friday — a decision made after isolating these systems — but residents in Pismo and Avila Beaches must still boil water until further tests are confirmed.
