- ➤ Front Porch launched Bridge the Gap to cover a $50,000 funding gap after a donor withdrew a pledge. The nonprofit will reach out to past donors & students before June to secure funds so it can continue offering free coffee and a community space near campus. Mustang News
- ➤ This weekend, the Central Coast hosts many events: the Morro Bay Kite Festival offers free kites and candy near Morro Rock today, while the International Film Festival runs until Tuesday and the Paso Robles Jazz Festival begins Friday+ local festivals and tastings add to a rich lineup. KSBY-TV

- ➤ Gorjana opened its first county store at 949 Higuera St. Monday—taking over a space formerly occupied by Bluemercury—and will serve customers Monday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mustang News

- ➤ At the 2026 Central Coast Olive Oil Competition hosted by the California Mid-State Fair, judges awarded Best of Show in four categories and named Sunshine Olive Oil Producer of the Year. Award-winning oils will be displayed from July 15-26 at the Paso Robles Event Center. Paso Robles Daily News
- ➤ The 32nd SLO International Film Festival kicked off yesterday at Fremont Theater with a screening of 'Give me the Ball' that spotlights Billie Jean King. The festival will continue through April 28 with over 100 indie films, new award categories, and Surf Nite Friday. KSBY-TV

- ➤ Cal Poly students elected Tanner Schinderle as ASI President for the 2026-27 academic year. The political science junior and current ASI Chief of Staff will start his term on July 1 and focus on affordability, resources, community and action while traveling between the San Luis Obispo and Solano campuses. Mustang News
- ➤ Templeton Elementary will implement a new traffic plan starting May 4 to improve student safety and ease congestion. The plan includes new lane markings, barriers, and a flow map (for guiding drop-offs and pickups) around the school. KSBY-TV
- ➤ Cal Poly announced on Thursday the election of 24 students to its ASI Board of Directors, with Nimisha Thakur receiving the highest votes for the College of Engineering and a write-in candidate pending official review (Karissa Yeung). Mustang News
- ➤ On April 23, Central Coast students competed in the 25th annual Battle of the Books events held in Paso Robles at Centennial Park and in Santa Maria at the Abel Maldonado Community Youth Center — a contest that encourages reading and discussion among participants. KSBY-TV

- ➤ The Cal Poly Downtown Store moved to a new, larger space at the corner of Chorro and Marsh streets, ending nearly a decade on Higuera Street. Its three-day move brings the university’s store next door to HotHouse — a coworking lab run by the campus group. Mustang News

- ➤ Cal Poly Baseball fell 6-3 to Pepperdine on Tuesday (dropping their second game in a row), and the Mustangs will host a three-game series against CSUN starting Friday, April 24 at 6:05 p.m. Mustang News
- ➤ Cal Poly Beach Volleyball will host the Big West Championship this weekend at its home courts in San Luis Obispo as the Mustangs, ranked No. 6 with a 28-6 record, aim to close gaps in postseason play (Coach Todd Rogers said the team expects to capitalize on their home advantage). Mustang News
