CRIME NEWS
- ➤ CDFW cited two unlicensed individuals for collecting 351 striped shore crabs at Estero Bluffs State Park in San Luis Obispo County—281 over the legal limit—and returned all the crabs to the ocean. KSBY
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Cuesta College’s 2026 Student Annual Art Exhibition runs from today through May 22 at the Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery on campus, featuring original work by Fine Arts students with an opening reception from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Admission is free. Paso Robles Daily News

- ➤ Cal Poly’s PolySat Lab launched its 13th CubeSat at 4 a.m. on March 30 from Vandenberg Space Force Base, giving students valuable space research experience. The team now monitors the SAL-E satellite from the ground station as part of its ongoing project. Mustang News
- ➤ Cal Poly has over 23,000 students who say small classes, campus clubs, and nearby nature make it a great choice. Many students (including freshmen and transfers) say the school offers a special home for learning and growing. Mustang News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A portion of Oceano Dunes is temporarily closed to off-roading to protect sensitive habitat, officials said. Visitors must follow posted signs (for safety and recovery) as the restricted area supports environmental management. KSBY-TV

- ➤ On Wednesday, Morro Bay Harbor received $4,144,000 in federal funds for dredging while Port San Luis got $23,000 for breakwater maintenance. Officials said the funding will support safe navigation for commercial + emergency vessels. CalCoast News
- ➤ The historic Mid-Higuera Bypass Project is now finished in San Luis Obispo and increased flood capacity by 40% along South Higuera Street between Madonna and Marsh. City officials say new channels will help reduce future flooding & protect local homes and businesses. Mustang News
SPORTS NEWS
