- ➤ Pasolivo, a Paso Robles olive oil producer, was named the Most Awarded U.S. Producer at the 2026 Los Angeles International Olive Oil Competition (hosted by the Los Angeles County Fair) where its Lemon Olive Oil also earned the Margaret Edwards Award and Best in Class honors. - ➤ Cal Poly renamed its Student Diversity & Belonging division to Student Development & Belonging to better reflect its focus on mentorship and identity support; university spokesperson Keegan Koberl said the change aligns with the CSU Promise and will guide operations at the nine campus centers. - ➤ Biomedical engineering students in the BiCEP program are gaining hands-on hospital experience while designing devices to improve patient care. The summer program, which features projects like a shock sensor and a placenta removal wand (to boost innovation), will expand recruitment and partner with more hospitals. Mustang News
- ➤ Astrophysicist Sarah Gibson, a NASA project scientist, unveiled new photos of solar storms during a free Cal Poly presentation Wednesday; the event detailed solar wind and its impact on earth and allowed attendees (including Michael Warren and Erika Rohlfes) to view celestial objects through telescopes.
