  • Local Creston author Jessica Puccinelli—who draws on her family’s experiences—released her children’s book Maverick Speaks in Songs on March 27 to champion diverse communication and will host an inclusive playdate and book reading and signing at Joy Playground in Atascadero on May 2 at 10:15 a.m.  Paso Robles Daily News
  • Lainey Wilson will perform at the California Mid-State Fair on July 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Chumash Grandstand Arena at the Paso Robles Event Center (with Colton Dawson opening) as tickets go on sale online starting April 3 at 10 a.m.  Paso Robles Daily News

  • At Cal Poly, the Shakespeare Press Museum brings printing history to life by letting visitors learn how to set antique letterpress machines & metal type. Maintained by student volunteers under faculty guidance, the museum offers a hands-on experience in traditional printmaking techniques.  Mustang News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Officials with the Five Cities Fire Authority will start initial weed abatement inspections in Arroyo Grande and Grover Beach during the first week of April; the annual deadline is June 1. Properties that do not meet guidelines (weeds taller than 4 inches, narrow mowing perimeters) may face fines and contractor charges.  KSBY
