- ➤ The 65th Annual Fine Arts Awards in San Luis Obispo celebrated high school talent in classical music, jazz, and visual arts on Sunday — juniors and seniors competed for top honors and cash prizes while proceeds funded scholarships for student artists. KSBY-TV
- ➤ The Paso Robles Art Association is hosting a plein air workshop led by artist Mike Hernandez on May 16 and 17 in Paso Robles. The event welcomes artists of all skill levels and offers live demonstrations, one-on-one coaching, and discussions on painting techniques. Paso Robles Daily News
- ➤ Cal Poly chef Arthur Dulin will compete tomorrow in the NACUFS Culinary Challenge in Seattle with his Thai-inspired catfish dish honoring his California roots and time in Thailand. - ➤ Gas prices in San Luis Obispo County rose to $5.90 a gallon last week due to conflicts in the Middle East and seasonal demand (the county now ranks seventh statewide), with Chevron in Atascadero offering the lowest rate at $5.09. CalCoast News

- ➤ State health officials are advising consumers not to eat or serve Raw Farm raw cheddar cheese after seven people were sickened by Shiga toxin-producing E. coli across three states.
