COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Central Coast Classico cycling festival will take place from April 24 to 26 at the Pinedorado Grounds in Cambria. The three-day event will feature supported rides, live music, food stops, and a VIP dinner, with registration opening Friday at 2 p.m.  Paso Robles Daily News
  • Morro Bay State Park invites volunteers who enjoy kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding to join its SeaLife Stewards Volunteer Program for the 2026 season. Applicants must commit to two four-hour shifts per month and attend training on Saturday, May 16 + Saturday, June 6.  Paso Robles Daily News
  • Modular units from Bevyhouse were installed on March 18 and 19 at the new Balay Ko Family Resource Center next to ECHO’s campus in Atascadero, and the facility will add 30 shelter beds & support services for families facing homelessness when complete.  Paso Robles Daily News

  • On Friday, Mar. 21, a brush fire burned 100 acres near Huasna when firefighters set up a dozer line near Caldwell Mesa Road (Forest Route 31S04) before concluding the incident by 7:43 p.m.  CalCoast News

  • Cal Poly hosts Morning on the Green, a university-run event that offers a safer and organized alternative to campus parties for St. Fratty’s Day. Scheduled for today, thousands gather at a central campus concert venue & the event promises a festive yet controlled celebration.  Mustang News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • At its March 17 meeting, the city council approved several projects including expanding Allegretto Resort with 93 hotel rooms and a 24-unit condo development (one unit designated as affordable housing). It also updated permit fees and approved a measure to reduce retirement cost sharing for police and fire managers.  Paso Robles Daily News
