COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Thousands of Cal Poly students gathered early today for the second annual Morning on the Green celebration as part of St. Fratty’s Day festivities. The event took place in a Safety Enhancement Zone with increased police presence, and some local residents faced traffic disruptions (reflecting the ongoing community impact).  KSBY-TV
  • On Sunday, volunteers at the Jewish Community Center packed care bags with traditional Passover items for delivery to underserved seniors in San Luis Obispo and northern Santa Barbara counties between March 27 and 31. CULTURE NEWS

  • Local baker Florencia Breda, co-owner of Breda in downtown, will compete on Food Network’s The Ultimate Baking Championship today at 6:00 p.m. as one of 16 elite pastry chefs vying for a $50,000 prize.  KSBY-TV

  • Dozens of children attended a free flag football clinic at Mission Prep High School on Saturday, organized by Central Coast Flag—a league launched by former NFL player Patrick Laird and local coach Lester Paredes.
