- ➤ Paso Robles Recreation Services volunteers will host a free community garden workshop at Uptown Family Park on Feb. 28 from 10 to 11 a.m. The workshop covers pruning, seeds, and pest management (open to all ages) and is part of a monthly series. Paso Robles Daily News

- ➤ Cal Poly’s annual Illuminate dance showcase (organized by United Movement) offered a colorful display of cultural dances at the Performing Arts Center. - ➤ California Mid-State Fair (CMF) is accepting entries for its Central Coast Home Brew and Home Winemaking Competitions starting Feb. 24 with entries due in May. - ➤ On Monday, Feb. 23, city leaders approved Libertine Brewing Company’s permit to continue live music at its location, following community comments; the venue has relocated its stage (to reduce noise) and added soundproofing measures after multiple complaints. KSBY-TV

- ➤ Paso Robles High School Class of 1971 will hold its 55th reunion on April 28 at Cass Winery from 2 to 6 p.m. and on April 29 at The Loading Chute from 4 to 8 p.m., with reservations due by March 27. Paso Robles Daily News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Dozens of community members gave input on improvement measures for Buckley Road during a meeting held Tuesday evening at the Octagon Barn in San Luis Obispo. Transportation officials said the project will address speeding and improve access for pedestrians and cyclists, and another workshop is planned for the fall. KSBY-TV
- ➤ Brian Walker, owner of the charter boat The Black Pearl, settled a civil enforcement action approved Jan. 22 after officers found his vessel fishing in restricted waters near Piedras Blancas on July 12, agreeing to pay $10,600 in civil penalties plus $2,000 to the Fish and Game fund (totaling $12,600). - ➤ Eligible residents will be able to clear criminal records at the SLO Clean Slate Clinic on March 6 by appointment (call 805 902-CRLA) or by walking in at the County Law Library, 1050 Monterey Street. The District Attorney’s Office and local groups designed the service to reduce barriers to jobs and housing. CalCoast News
