- ➤ Trader Joe’s plans to open a store in northern county (no set location or timeline) while Cambria businesses saw more customers after Highway 1 fully reopened last week, and county crews will start storm cleanup at parts of Goleta Beach on Monday, Jan. 26. KSBY

- ➤ Firestone Walker announced its Invitational Beer Festival lineup on Saturday, May 30 at the Paso Robles Event Center; 65 breweries + live music and local food will mark a weekend celebration for its 30th anniversary. - ➤ San Luis Obispo County Elections Office is hosting an ‘I Voted’ sticker design contest for local students in grades 3-12 starting Jan. 27 with submissions open until March 10 — winning designs will appear on stickers and outreach materials, with winners announced in April. KSBY

- ➤ Central Coast Home Health and Hospice is urgently seeking volunteers to care for local hospice patients. The nonprofit will hold free training sessions with snacks and lunch on Fri, Feb. 20, Fri, Feb. 27 and Fri, March 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. KSBY

- ➤ The Arroyo Grande Planning Commission approved Tuesday, Jan. 22 — a 92-unit residential project named Creekside Junction at 1271 and 1281 James Way near Curl Fitness to meet state housing mandates, with two four-story buildings offering 20 studios, 58 one-bedroom, and 14 two-bedroom units including 15% affordable housing.
