ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ City biologist Freddy Otte said four juvenile mountain lion sightings were reported in two weeks, including one video capture near Irish Hills on Jan. 11 and another near Bishop Peak trailhead. Residents are advised to keep pets indoors and follow safety tips (since deer attract these cats). KSBY-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Construction on Mission Plaza in downtown San Luis Obispo is 90% finished as crews install new restrooms, repair the historic Murray Adobe, and build a café kiosk; officials say the project will be complete this spring. KSBY-TV
LIFESTYLE NEWS
- ➤ Moose, a three-year-old terrier (crate-trained and micro-chipped) is looking for his forever home at the Woods Humane Society Shelter off Oklahoma Avenue. The shelter welcomes visitors today from noon to 4 p.m. KSBY-TV

- ➤ San Luis Obispo will soon have a new five-level Cultural Arts parking structure with 300+ spaces, 41 EV chargers & 32 bike racks that open in March on Nipomo, Palm and Monterey streets; local businesses plan to work with the city to offer parking validation. KSBY-TV

- ➤ Cal Poly Football announced that seven transfer student-athletes will join the team for the 2026 season to strengthen its run game and quarterback play. The new signings include standout linebacker Chase Martin from Boise State and were added after head coach Tim Skipper took charge. Mustang News
